I have had trouble since day one with my Lexmark printer 900 series and now have had it for a couple of years.  It seems ink runs out after 10 prints and different cartridges all of the time.  Everytime I go to print I cringe to see whether or not it actually prints correctly or screws up completely.  Most of the time it screws up, other times it has communication problems.  Today was the last straw.....I turned my printer over to black & white a while back and couldn't figure out how to switch it back to color for Macbook so I called customer support.  40 minutes later after they got to dig around in my computer and come up with a lame excuse that I had suspicous activity on my driver and it would cost me $200 in order to switch my black & white back to color.

I will be visiting Office max to get my money back and if not I will be one upset SOB.

I had one of their printer a couple years ago and it stopped working properly about half a year later. I bought it because of the printer and the ink prices at the time ($70 for printer+scanner and $19.99 for either black or color). I had to throw it away and get a new one from another brand which is a bit more expensive.

You are still living in the old style (wishful) of business when both sellers and consumers are honest to each other (similar to employers & employees relationship). There is no such honesty left but rather try to exploit or take advantage of the other. The society has changed and I doubt it will go back to where it was. The seller will sell and don't care for after sale service because the person who sells the product will not be the same person who does the support for the product. The only thing that consumers can do is to spread the news about their bad service and NOT buying their products anymore (and I never went back to their product). This is one end of an extreme where sellers and consumers try to get back at each other. I guess it works on Lexmark because the company is no longer in the printer business (if you follow tech news).

That said, this does not mean you are entitled for the money you spend on the product a couple years ago. If a business is doing what you are expecting, the business would have gone out of business a long time ago because they will have been losing money left and right. This submissive/overly support behavior is on another extreme. I could only wish you a good luck on getting your money back. Next time, if you ever have a problem with any product you bought, get it fixed or return it as soon as possible. There will be less and less companies that are willing to accept the product back.

I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna get my money back idiot.  The first year they supported the POS so I didn't think there would be a future problem.  I guess this is how business is run nowadays, sell you a product and screw you in the future.  As for you responding to my comment, why don't you get a life instead of responding to complaints on ripoff report.  I could buy a used 1980's printer and switch from black & white to color without issue.  Don't you think we have progressed in the digital world??  If you ask me, it's a d**n scam when an easy switch over has to be such a problem and charge people for stupid crap.  You must work for Lexmark you shill.

Really youve had the printer for a few years. NO ONE IS GOING TO BUY THAT YOU HAVE HAD PROBLEMS THAT LONG!! If you had problems in the begining you would have taken the printer back. OD is going to do NOTHING for you. Youre going to be upset. But lets face it, after a couple of years of ownership, OD is just going to apologize and send you on your way. You MIGHT get the manufacturer to do something for you but I highly doubt it. You can rant and rave and make as much of an a*s out of yourself in public as you like. There is no reolution for you except BUY A BETTER PRINTER. And you will be paying for it all on your own. Most products only have a 1 year manufacturer warrenty. And unless you purchased an extended warrenty youre boned.
