Liberty Credit Law Liberty Credit Liars - All They Do Is Take Your Money!! River Edge New Jersey

In 2009 I retained Liberty Credit Law for a loan modification. I spoke with a representative who promised me they would not stop until they got me my loan modification and if they couldnt I would get a full refund minus their $500 retainer fee.  The grand total of their fee was $3499 which I gave them in payments and signed the Retainer Agreement.

I dealt with many representatives from this firm (which is documented if at anytime needed I can supply names and emails).  To make a long story short I worked with them for 4 years and they requested the same data from me countless times and stated it was my lender who was misplacing and or requesting it.  The woman I was dealing with from their firm and sending my data to suddenly left the company.  At that point forward I was dealing with their lawyer and no one else. He gave me many scenarios on why the process was taking so long and blamed the entire situation on my lender which by the way is guilty as well.  At one point during Hurricane Sandy they closed my file because requested documents were not sent to them on time.  I'm on the coast which got hit the hardest.   So yes they tried getting away with that if you can only imagine. one!!!  Finally, after much aggravation and stress I spoke with the lawyer again and asked for an update he said that my lender closed my file because they claimed they never received requested documents from them on time and he said they did send it on time and its just a game my lender was playing.  I asked again what is going to be done or is this the end of the line and is there nothing more the  firm can do.   He said no there is nothing more they can do and if I liked I could try dealing with my lender directly.  

I asked about my retainer fee refund since the firm was not able to get me my loan modfication as promised and he said whatever the retainer agreement states.  I ended my conversation with him and was simply at a loss once again.  I called the firm the next day and got voice mail and I requested that they send me a letter stating that there is nothing more they can do for me and they are no longer representing me.  I never received a returned phone call or a letter.  

I showed the retainer agreement to a well known lawyer who told me that it looks like I've been scammed!! Unfortunately, he does not deal in that field and could not help me.   I am now seeking a lawyer to help me get my money back from Liberty Credit Law.  

So, to all the people out there who are in need of a loan modification BEWARE of Liberty Credit Law...they will take your money and run!!!!!

I am interested if a class action lawsuit is or will be filed against them.
