LIBERTY WIRELESS TOTAL SCAM; RIPOFF AND CONSUMER ABUSE LARGO Maryland

I order a phone for my son before going to college, thinking that it was pre-paid and would be a good way to keep track of expenses. This was over a year ago now.

The initial response on securing phone and signing contract went very well. Then, the first bill came and with only 2 days on it - bill was over $70.00. There had been three calls with a total time used - 7 minutes. Immediately contacted them, secured credit - thinking things still going well.

Phone simply stopped working on 21st day. Called, secured address to send it - sent it by Fed Ex so had receipt and signature of receipient. Advised 10-15 days unless I wanted to allow them to charge me for a new phone and then if problem was found to be in phone, they would credit upon return of the replacement/temporary phone. I declined and opted to wait.

Several calls made after 15 days, most using my second line as hold times were in excess of 60 minutes on two occassions (yes, more than an hour before someone picked it up) and other times disconnected after waiting 20 minutes or more. Did speak to several "supervisors" all promising phone.

Receive a bill, despite the fact that they had received the phone as evidenced by signed receipt - there were several phone calls made and a $70 charge. Again, several phone calls finally resulting in getting back this charge. They refused to return monies for the pre-paid month that had not been used as no phone provided and after 15 calls total - every call was "we'll be sending out a new phone today, there's been a delay in receiving these from the manufactuer despite the fact that these same phones were being offered on the web site to new unsuspecting consumers.

Never received the phone nor the refund of the pre-paid month - arbitration option per contracted has never generated a return phone call.

THEIR EMPLOYEES SHOULD BE ASHAMED AS THEY KNOW THEY ARE LYING AND CHEATING PEOPLE, PEOPLE THAT WORK FOR THEIR MONEY JUST LIKE THEY DO.
