Linens N Things - LNT RIPOFf Deceptive, desperate and dishonest sales tactics Nationwide

Recently, a Thermos grill was on sale at LNT (stores and online) for $249. In the same sales flyer, there is a 20% coupon that is included. As the item description or the website doesn't say anywhere that the coupon doesn't apply to this particular item, I made a 50 mile drive to buy one at one of the last stores that had one available. After reaching there and paying for it, I was told that they will not accept any coupons for this item. I asked why? The answer was - thats what corporate has decided to do. I asked for any documentation on this policy which seems random at best, there was no proof provided.

Everyone knows LNT is in deep trouble (loosing money and being privatized) and now you know why. If a merchant can't take care of their customers by creating clear and transparent policies and giving the benefit of the doubt to the customers, I am not shopping there again.

A proof of their inconsistent policies is that several people were able to apply the coupon on this very item for their online purchase via lnt.com

Bottom line: LNT had an opportunity to be straight forward and honest with its customers by noting right on the item description that coupon doesn't apply. They chose to be deceptive and dishonest.
