Lion's Gate Consulting DON'T FALL FOR THIS! Ripoff New York New York

My best friend called me up one day and told me that he had recieved a card in the mail stating that he was prequalified for a government grant of up to $5,000. He told me he had called the company number and spoke to a woman that said that he just had to pay a fee of $299.99 and then they would do all the work for him and send him the grant money for school. She also told him that if he did NOT recieve the full $5,000 he would be refunded his money.

Naturally I said, um that's a big time fraud! His response was that he had checked with the school and they told him that they had heard of the company and that there were lots of private company's that do this for students and that it was legit. So I believed him. He did not have the money to send them so I loaned him $120 and he asked his Uncle, who works for the Tennesee State Bureau of Investigation, for the rest. TO this he responded, That sounds like a fraud and I wont give you the money until you do some more research.

I googled them for him and came up with their website, lionsgateconsulting.com which looks legit but makes no mention of how much money or even how to get the package they are supposed to send you. AND there is no contact information... when you click that link it allows you to send them an email to an undisclosed email address.

Earlier today I was again online looking for information on Grants and read an article (businessweek.com/smallbiz/0001/sa000111.htm) that says you can NOT get free money to start a business which reminded me of this Lion's gate company and upon looking them up again the only other information I have found is the reports on this site.

I have called my friend and let him know this is fake and to check this site... Thanks to these reports I have saved myself $120! ANY TIME you get something that says you have to pay for a government grant it's fake because you don't spend a dime unless you hire someone to write the grant proposal for you!
