My daughter worked for Lowe's for several years. In 2009 she lived in New Jersey and worked in the Woodbrige store until April 17th. She moved to New York State to care for her aging grandmother and transferred to an upstate store located in Middletown. Unfortunately, caring for her grandmother and working full time took a toll on her and she lost her job due to excessive absences and lateness. My daughter is very private so I doubt that anyone at Lowe's knew of her situation.
Be that as it may, when Lowe's sent my daughter's W2's for 2009 they were incorrect. She tried several times to have corrected W2's issued to no avail. In January of 2011 she moved downstate to find a job and that was when I found out that Lowe's never issued corrected W2's. I contacted Human Resources at the North Carolina Headquarters and had my daughter ask for the corrected W2's, the payroll person blamed it on New York State requirements and I am very dubious about that but he agreed to send the corrected W2's.
A month went by and she did not receive the corrected W2's. We contacted Lowe's payroll people again and they simply forgot to send it out. We had initially called on a Friday, late in the day after trying for about two hours to talk to a person instead of automated response units. The payroll rep sent the corrected W2's but they did not breakdown the YTD taxes paid to the State of New Jersey as of the date she last worked in that state. Subsequent calls were not very fruitful. My daughter was advised to call the Middletown New York store and ask for a copy of her April 17, 2009 pay check. She did that and we received a breakdown of the pay period salary and taxes without the Year To Date information.
Last week I called the executive office for assistance and they instructed me to contact the regional office and speak with the Regional Director. When I called the regional office, the woman who answered the phone said I could not speak to the director but a manager instead. The manager was not at her desk so I was forced to leave a voice mail. When I did not receive a return call, I called agian and asked for the Director, the reponse was that he was not at his desk.
I contacted the executive office again and asked them to contact the regional office but the "executive assistant" refused to do that at first but I persisted and she agreed to call. I asked her to call me back when she made the contact. I am still waiting to hear from both the executive assistant and the regional office.
It is plain to see that Lowe's does not care about former employees and from what my daughter tells me they did not really treat incumbent employees well either. If this is how Lowe's treats it's employees, imagine what they think about customers.

There is a lot of missing information. Where it seems to involve your daughter being "very private". So perhaps she is being "very private" with you as well and you are not getting the FULL story.
First of all what was incorrect on her W2's that is still trying to get it corrected over a year later? Then why did you only find out about this in January 2011?
I would also wonder why you appear to be doing most(if not all) of this. This is private information and if they are giving you any information about your daughter without her saying it was okay that is actually more of a problem. So perhaps your daughter didn't give them permission and that is why YOU are not getting any responses.
