Purchased a Whirlpool washing machine on March 13, 2008 with a Free Delivery Rebate of $65.00 if price cost was $397.00 or above before taxes. On March 15, 2008 mailed my rebate request with my phone number and email address along with the copy of my receipt.

On about April 21st I checked their website www.lowes.com/rebates to check the status of my rebate. The website stated that they had no record of receiving the request. When I called customer service at 1-877-204-1223 they said the request must have been lost in the mail. Customer service stated that I would have to mail a second request and again wait another 6 -8 weeks for my rebate. I went to the store and asked customer service if they could give me the rebate sooner as I needed the money and the cashier only said "what do you want me to do, call them?" and that they could not give me the rebate so I left angry.

May 6, 2008 mailed certified letter second request for rebate and on May 19, 2008 received conformation from Lowe's Promotion department that the request had been received and allow 2-3 weeks to be processed.

June 10, 2008 checked status of rebate on website and again stated no record of receiving rebate request. Called customer service and spoke to Crystal stating that the rebate had been issued on 4/3/08 but had been returned because I had written the wrong zip code. I then asked to speak to her supervisor. Morgan came on the phone saying the same as Crystal. I asked why didn't customer service contact tact me either by phone or email when the rebate was returned? He could not give me an answer.

I also asked Morgan why had customer service told me on May 7, 2008 that they had not received my first request only to say that they had mailed my rebate on 4/3/08? Why did I have to spend $5.21 certified mail for a second request when they had received the first request? After arguing with Morgan when he became agrivated with me he said forget the 2-3 weeks and I am going to make it 3-4 weeks before you receive the rebate. If I get the rebate by June 17, 2008 it will have been twelve weeks to receive the rebate.

Will I ever receive the rebate? I have written the FTC and the California Attorny's Office and plan to write the Riverside County District Attorney's Office and the Better Business Office.
