mackeeper following a virus alert, I was directed to the website to upload mackeeper New Orleans Louisiana

 My Apple Mac computer warned me that my computer was seriously effected by three different viruses yesterday, and a screen appeared stating that I should download mackeeper software to fix the computer and to get rid of viruses. I thought that this was Apple's original virus protection software and decided to get the software (paid 59 dollars).

Later on, for the affordable fee of only $ 100 (to fix the computer only once), I was able to live chat with a consumer representative who helped authenticate my purchase and assisted in cleaning of my files. While this was going on, consumer representative offered to have a technician remotely check and make sure there was no malicious software running on my system.He said it would take 2-3 hours for the process, but I didn't need to sit in front of the computer.

He asked my password to remotely connect to my computer and since I thought that this was Apple company's legal service, I gave the password to him to fix my computer and to clean the viruses. From googling this company today, I learned that mackeeper is a malware. I would like to report the fraud and possibility of a fraud of my identity.
