Macleds Kim McAdams does't pay her independant contractor Pittsford, New York

This person/business needed to have some freelance design done for her company. I knew her through her previous employment at the company I worked at, so she asked me if I could help her. We agreed on my compensation and time that I would spend working on her project (mostly Fridays and weekends). I took photos of products for her, set up and designed her website, made multiple documents, created a logo, and made business cards. She paid me for the first month, so I continued with the project.

The second month is where things started to get sticky. The month started off fine, but near the end she was getting overwhelmed with traveling, new products, and me not being able to work on stuff for her 100%. She wanted to bring another freelancer on the project to work on the website while I worked on photography and documentation. I wasn't too thrilled with this, but it wasn't my decision.

Going into the third month I sent an invoice to her/the company as I usually do and didn't get a response by the due date. I sent out a second invoice and waited. I finally received a response, but to my dismay, she argued that she thought I was over charging her, which I replied back with a breakdown of everything that was invoiced.

It has been about 20 days since the last e-mail and she is about 25-30 days delinquent on payment for a February Invoice. I heard through the grapevine she is going through some troubles and sent her an e-mail offering to work with her so that I could get my compensation, but never received a reply. I've recently noticed that her other freelancer has haphazardly designed over my original design. She can apparently pay him, but refuses to pay me or return e-mails. If you come across the person/company steer clear. She doesn't pay, avoids phone calls and emails. Very childish.
