MacPalace.com is a scam. Do not order anything from them, as their products do not work, and they will screw you in the refund process. That is how this business model makes money. It is a complete and total internet scam.

I ordered a refurbished MAC from MacPalace.com in Q4 2011. When it came to me the charger did not work at all, therefore I was not able to turn the computer on once the computer ran out of juice. It was an older charger that isn't sold at Apple stores any longer, and is rather hard to get your hands on.

I spoke with a representative at MacPalce explaining the problem, and sent the computer back for a full refund just as they had instructed me to do so on the phone. In the meantime, I purchased a new computer for my needs straight from the Apple Store expecting that I would be fully refunded for the faulty item from MacPalace. I had to pay for shipping, of course, but the item was to be returned for a full refund as discussed.

Rather than take the order back and issue the refund, MacPalace ripped open the package - threw in a new charger and sent it back "Return to Sender" When I got the package I was shocked, as it was supposed to be returned and refunded. Furthermore, the computer was no longer in the protective bubble wrap I had placed it in. It was just rattling around in a large box that was barely held together by tape.

I opened the box, tried to turn on the computer and it would not turn on at all. The charger, although it was a new one, would not charge the computer - so I had no choice but to send it back again. I called the representative at MacPalace, explained the issue and sent the computer back once again for a full refund, paying for shipping 3rd time.

To my surprise, they only refunded a portion of the computer's cost, saying that they have a 30% "restocking fee" for any item that isn't damaged. I'm sorry, but the computer would not turn on! I call that damaged. The computer and the charger were dead, and you are going to charge me a few hundred bucks in restocking fee??? What a scam.

When I called they told me the only person who could help me was their Manager - Jack. Every time I called they would say, "Jack isn't here" ... or "Jack has your message, he will call you back."

Today, I find out that Jack does not even exist. They have been lying to me the entire time. They also tried to tell me that the computer worked "just fine" when they got it. I filed a report with the BBB, you can check that on their site. MacPalace refused to comment. Do no buy in to this company's business model.  MacPalace.com is a fraud.
