I placed an order with Mags Almost Free in June 2009. A few days later, I received a promotional e-mail from the company, offering a discount if I placed another order by a certain date. I went ahead and ordered three additional subscriptions, then sent payment via U.S. mail to 6374 Rubylyn Ave., Las Vegas NV 89122.

Twelve weeks have passed and no magazines have arrived. I checked with my bank, and Mags Almost Free cashed both checks within 10 days after I mailed them. As others have stated, there is no phone number for this company and my only recourse was to fill out an online form via their Web site. Of course, my message has not been acknowledged.

I have filed complaints with three different agencies. If you've been duped by these shysters, I strongly urge you to file a complaint with any or all of the three agencies I've contacted thus far. The more complaints they receive, the more inclined they'll be to take note. There's no reason a scam operation such as this one should be able to operate freely for as long as it has.

Here are the agencies I have contacted:

1. Better Business Bureau of Southern Nevada, Inc.

6040 S. Jones Blvd.

Las Vegas, NV 89118

Phone: (702) 320-4500

scampbell@vegasbbb.org

2. NCL's Fraud Center

c/o National Consumers League

1701 K St. NW, Suite 1200

Washington, DC 20006

(NOTE: I tried to fill out an online complaint form, but there were problems with the server. I went ahead and sent a letter via U.S. mail).

3. Federal Trade Commission

www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov

1-877-FTC-HELP

Good luck and if anyone has succeeded in getting a refund or reasonable resolution, please post an update. I will do the same regarding any responses I receive from the above agencies.
