Mann Bracken LLC Mann Bracken Sends "Joe" to "Serve" Fraudlent Court Summons Atlanta Georgia

Last night at approximately 8:30p, a man who claimed his name was "Joe" rang my doorbell and asked for me. When I came to the door, "Joe", who was dressed in all black and driving a black car, proceeded to present me with what appeared to be a summons to appear in Fulton County court to answer a "complaint against account" for monies owed to Capital One Bank. "Joe" was obviously not a sheriff, was not in an official county sheriff's vehicle, and could not produce any I.D. authenticating who he claimed he was. Upon closer scrutiny of the "summons", the only information included was information on how to contact Mann Bracken to file a response with either the clerk of the court or Mann Bracken regarding the "complaint against accout". The "summons" indicated that it was filed on 11/4/08, but includes no civil action file number, no information about reporting to court or any other information common to an actual court summons. Further, the document states that I have 30 days to respond from date of service, however there is no date of service listed and I was not asked to sign anything indicating that it had been served. In fact, yesterday was 12/4/08, fully 30 days AFTER the filed date stamped on the document. Quite frankly, the whole entire thing looks like some made up, bogus BS designed to scare me into contacting Mann Bracken as there is no information included about the account that about which they are allegedly filing the complaint. And, in any event, this is so clearly out of line with allowable and legal debt collection practices I am amazed that they are even trying to pull such an obviously illegal stunt.
