Manpower promised job but did not deliver ripoff Scottsburg Indiana

I don't wanna give away what i'm in college for due to I don't want to risk being sued by Manpower. I'm due to graduate in August. I applied at Manpower due to the fact a lot of companies are having Manpower and other temp agencies do their Hiring and "finding."

RIGHT ON MY RESUME SAYS I'm in college until August of this year. the gentleman calling was Very rude on the phone. He said HOW THE HELL ARE YOU GONNA GO TO WORK PLUS GO TO COLLEGE. I said millions of people do it everyday sir. I also said to him i started applying early due to the economy sir. a lot of times if they like you they will hold a job. and really 4-5 months out isn't that far. I said sir is this a Temp to hire or perm. Placement.

He said Temp to hire. I hung up. I didn't go to college for temp to hire bull****. they can "rotate you out" if you sneeze wrong. Plus the company (you are working for) has to pay a "finders fee" last when i heard its over 3000 dollars PER PERSON if they hire you. so if they let you go and rotate you out they don't have to pay that 3000 dollars. so do you really think they are gonna keep you?

I tried going thru manpower temps They Suck dude! and as for telling that margret lady to screw off.. GOOD JOB!! there are so many rip offs in scottsburg its not funny. take Jefferys Auto for example they do not honor their deals

Hey Margaret...screw off. Manpower promised me a job AFTER I got back from my vacation. I suppose I should have left out the part about going on vacation as it really wasn't entirely relevant to my story. I was told I would have a job when I got back but they also promised to find me a job with a different company a couple of weeks after I got back...and they didn't follow through.

Also, why are you even bothering to comment on a report that's over a year old? Do you have nothing better to do than attempt to belittle me on a website? Have you ever gone through a temp agency? I don't suppose you go on vacation if you're going after a job that can pay for a trip to Europe. I, unfortunately, will be working jobs that can barely pay for a trip to the next state until I can find the time to finish college. Until you've experienced this situation, don't tell me what I should and should not do...especially after the fact.

Anyway, after having a steady job, that I didn't like, for some time now, I decided to go back to Manpower to get a better job. This time, I am working for a very stable manufacturing company. This company only hires through Manpower and this is a temp to hire position. I went to a different Manpower office this time and everyone was very helpful. One of the women from my local office is now working at the office I am going through now and she is very helpful as well. I've never had a problem with her and I wouldn't be surprised if her coworkers were the reason she transferred. I still believe something wasn't quite right with my local office when I posted this report, but I can honestly say that what happened is not a reflection of Manpower as a company. I have had a great experience with Manpower this time around.

If you needed/wanted the position that bad you should not have run off on a family vacation. Now you can ask your family if they plan on supporting you and paying your bills. If they do, then by all means take all the vacations you want, if not then you need to get back into the job search and not run off again during a very important time in your life.
I was laid off last year from my career of 15 years due to downsizing. Before this downsizing I had tentative vacation plans for a trip to Europe. As soon as I found out about the downsizing, I cancelled my plans.

I have been employed through agencies before, and one thing is clear among ALL of them -- jobs are considered TEMPORARY and are NEVER guaranteed. Perhaps you should have read the contractual statements you signed when you filled out your application. While they may have had a position for you at one time, things may have changed and said position became unavailable. Suck it up and move on. If you require stable, permanent employment, may I suggest you not seek work through a temporary agency.

i have never worked for manpower but i have worked for other placement agencies.
for one, their clients dictate the rules. you don't know what the contract with multicolor and manpower was. the contract may not allow previous workers to be rehired.

and it is common practice for the placement agency to sell your contract to manpower if you decide to work for them without the agency (there is usually a one year limit after leaving the agency).

leaving on vacation when a spot opens is not a good thing. that spot will be filled asap. account managers will go down the list for anyone to fill that spot. if he doens't fill the spot, then he doesn't get paid. account managers aren't lazy, they spend their time looking for recruits to fill job openings. that is their bread and butter.

next...dont even bother with them.....they gave me one job and that was back in june and I called and called and called..and they had nothing..apparently the one job I went to I did not want to stay for a variety of reasons and they did not like the idea.

too bad I say..I have a great paying job I got from (((redacted)))

By stating that I would work at McDonald's before working for Manpower again, that was my way of saying I would never work for them again. McDonald's would be a last resort for me, as I would most likely look for another factory job or office job.

you'll only start out at 6.50 at the most! i worked there as a manager for a while and it is not at all what you think that it is. trust me, mcdonalds she be at the tail end of your options

I have since gotten a better paying job than I ever would have gotten through my local Manpower office. Even though it is not great pay (I am still working on a degree and hope to make quite a bit more in the future) I am still making almost $13.50 an hour starting out. My Multicolor job through Manpower would have started out around eight dollars per hour until I actually got hired on by the company.

If I am in desperate need of a job in the future, I will work at McDonald's before I will go to Manpower.

I work for Manpower on the IBM account, and I know for a fact that people have been laid off here and brought back later. It sounds like you have a recruiter that is lazy, or Multicolor may not be using them any more. I'd try going directly to Multicolor and see if you can get something directly with them. Since you've already done some temp work with them, they've already had a chance to evaluate your performance-so as long as that was good, that should give you the upper hand in getting hired.
