Mark Langlois Took $2500.00 and didn't do the work Southbridge, Massachusetts

In 2008 we hired Mark to repair the chimney on my elderly dad's house is Ware, MA. Mark was recommended by my dad's neighbors. Mark procrastinated for months, but it was a rainy year, so the procrastination seemed warranted. On October of 2008 Mark finally did the work, which turned out well. He offered to do more work to a weak spot his guys found on the roof, and to patch and paint the garage door. He asked for money up front for materials and we gave him a check for $2500.00, which he cashed. My dad wasn't living at home, so he wasn't there to monitor any activities, but my husband checked the house every week. In the early summer of 2009, Mark still hadn't done the roof work. We informed Mark that we needed to sell the house and therefore needed the work done. Mark said he'd been sick with a lung problem. We waited. My dad passed away in July. The sale of the house was imminent in September of 2009, and Mark still hadn't done the work. He stopped answering phone calls. None of the neighbors could reach him, either. So Mark is gone as is my dad's $2500.00. Early on, Mark told my husband that in the winter, he does work in Florida. He also does work on Cape Cod, MA.
