This company will not pay me for my work , I did 12 merchandiding jobs for them that they kept calling me and begging me to do , so I did them , they all were 4-5 hour jobs , then I asked them how and when they paid and they said they didnt , and they didnt know , so I inquired twice on two different occassions then they sent me an email mess telling me I didnt download any pictures and this is the 3rd time they pulled this on me.

Now they have taken me out of their system like it never happened and when I called she was rude to me and told I wasnt getting paid at all and hung up,

I want my money they owe me 298.00 for all jobs done and now they dont want to pay , I think there are Labor Laws about this too , This needs to stop they need to pay me and everybody else they ripped off and they need to be shut down,

Market Force Not a Scam

AUTHOR: Jill - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 13, 2012

I have been an independent contractor for Maketforce for many years and have seldom had a problem with them. The few times that I had a problem, it was resolved immediately. You are paid twice a month if you follow the guidelines for the assignment. With the cost of gas, you can negotiate for a higher pay rate. You have the choice of the shops you would like to do. If you choose not to do them it is no big deal.  I select shops that are in my immediate area. It's a win-win. Their assignments are completed, & I get paid. The ink, paper & gas etc. are a write off. All it takes is a desire to do this type of work & the ability to do.

How Market Force works

AUTHOR: RollerCoasteriac - (United States of America)

Hi, First let me tell you I am a temp at Market Force, not a high level manager with a vested interest in defending this company.

I work in the dept. that clears merchandising reports for payment. You described an email "mess" in which you were asked to submit pictures. Most merch. assignments require pics to verify that you completed the work. Otherwise, you could lie and say you completed the visit when you didn't. Generally, you are given THREE chances to submit the correct photos (including an opportunity to return to the store and fix it if you did make an error.)

When we call re: the "last chance", we ALWAYS warn the contractor (you) that if the completed, correct report with pictures is not received we will not be able to pay you for the work. Further, I have read the instructions you are given to complete the assgnment more times than I wish to count, and I think if anything, they are TOO detailed. I have found the employees in this department to be overly accomodating and helpful to our reps.

Remember, MF is not paid unless you successfully complete the work...so rejecting your work is the LAST thing they want to do! Lastly, a lot of MF reps forget that they are a 1099 INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR...traditional labor laws do NOT apply to you. If you hired a builder (contractor) to expand your porch and you did not like the work, think about how you'd handle it. You would probably give the builder a few chances to fix the work (like you received at MF) and if he didn't fix it, you wouldn't pay him. Same rules apply here. Your only real recourse is small claims court...but I assure you, if you didn't submit the pictures as required in the instructions, you will lose. Sorry.

p.s. MF has been in business for over 50 years and have thousands of contractors...don't you think they would be "shut down" already if they weren't paying their employees?

-Sara
