I don't know what is going on with the state of Maryland.  I have been trying to get this situation straight for two weeks now.  I have been trying to get my car registered and was told I owe for an insurance fine from 2007 and the bill is now with the collections department.  Okay that sounds easy even though it is now 2019 and the crap is not on my credit report.

Did not understand that because hey I haven't lived in the state of Maryland since 2005 so how would I know.  Spoke with a yound lady and explained that I'd moved and traded that vehicle in to a dealer in another state in 2005 as I'd done other vehicles, the tags were still on it and other dealers had returned the tags, I had no reason to believe the tags would not be returned.

She explained that ultimately it is my responsibility to return the tags and I agree with that but we live and we learn but where can we go from here and what can I do to let you guys know that I did not have the vehicle as of May 2007.  She put me on hold and apparently looked the vehicle up and found that it was put up for sale that year and reduced the price of the fine significantly.

I was satisfied with that result even though I was irritated that I had to pay anything at all.  Paying less was better than paying that huge fine.  Well, heres where the story goes left.  I've been trying to pay the fine but instead of sending over the amount that I was told, they sent over the bigger amount to the collections department.

Every time I've called, it's been a mess and it's still not resolved.  My temporary tags are getting ready to expire so I'm not understanding why it's so hard for someone or anyone to just do their job. Today, I was told by a very rude lady that I either pay the fine as is or wait until it gets sent over. I feel that's very unprofessional. which is why I'm writing this complaint.
