Master Cleaning - Carpet cleaning company and their false advertisement ads Virginia Beach Virginia

Wednesday, June 17, 2009 I called a company called Master Cleaning. I saw an advertisement in a local coupon paper called the Money Clip that circles the area with discount coupons for sales and or services. I called this company (1-757-502-9858) or toll free 877-340-1327 located 949 Sir Winfield Cr.in Virginia Beach, Va. to have someone come out and clean my carpets. I was given a time of 2:00 PM, the next day for a service man to come to my home to do the job. The add specifically stated Satisfaction Guaranteed, Guaranteed Lowest Prices, No Hidden Cost. I did ask the lady on the phone would this cost me any other money or would it be just what she quoted me? She said no other cost. I scheduled this appointment. When the technician arrived at my home the next day, entered my home and surveyed the rooms to clean. He told me I can not clean the carpets for the amount listed on the coupon and get them cleaned. I have to use a different kind of cleaning solution to get them clean real good for you. I said what are you talking about? The coupon I have states what it will cost me with no hidden charges. He spoke little English and did not know what satisfaction guaranteed or no hidden charges meant to which he replied no I just come out to clean rugs and if it cost more I have to tell you I can not clean them for the price. If you do not want to pay the other price I just leave. I told him to call his supervisor and talk to him. He gave me quiet a hard time and tried to make a sale which I did not succumb to. He finally gave in and went outside and said he made a call and he had been told to not do the job and just leave. I ask him to let me talk to the supervisor and he said no and hung up the phone. I told him to call them back and let me talk to them. He said no I will not do that I am just going to leave. I told him he should call them back and tell them I said that what they stated on the coupon was false advertisement and also it was not what I had been told. He said he was going to leave now and left. I did not call the company back, for they had a receptionist as I stated did not speak English well enough to make her understand what I was trying to say. If she could not speak English I knew it would be a waste of both our time. I had asked the technician to call the owner and let me speak to him which he said he did now know his number.

I caution the public: don't be fooled by coupon ads claiming to save you money on services. They arrive at your home and try to make sales for a better job, but increase the cost to do so.

My main complaint now is how a company can continue to advertise in offering a service they can not perform or hire people that do not speak English well enough to carry a normal conversation. It involved quiet a lot of work on my part to prepare my home for this job to be done. They move no furniture or do absolutely noting to prepare the area for cleaning unless there is another additional fee. This means if you don't want to pay the additional fees (hidden cost) then it is the customers responsibility to accomplish this. I had to call another company to come here and do the job so they can not come back to make amends if they decided to do so. It is people like this company that try to rip the people off and seem to always get away with it.
