Max Tool is fairly prominent on Ebay ..... one of the few construction and woodworking tool companies left on the faltering auction site.

THEIR CLAIM - "Get the lowest price on name brand tools and equipment!"

THE PROBLEM - EVERY price they have, and I DO mean every price, on tools and just about everything they sell is MORE, yes MORE, than retail.

A good example - Kreg KHC-Premium Face Clamp - Kreg's List Price - $21.99; Max Tool's price on Ebay - $44.95 ..... a whopping $22.96 MORE THAN RETAIL!!!!!
This is just one example - most, if not all, that they sell is several to many dollars more than retail.

For example on the clamp listed above - it is $19.89 on Amazon, with free shipping, and no tax.

SHAME on this company.
Do NOT support them in any way shape or form!!!!

RE: Max Tools a price gouger?

I also have purchased from Maxtool.  I purchased a DeWalt Mitre Saw.  I researched this product and made several comparisons to model numbers, refurbished equipment, etc.

I purchased a new unit from Maxtool.  The sales person was not pushy.  The description of the unit was written plain and legible.  The unit shipped rather quickly (from California to Texas), I received the unit as expected, and I received what I purchased.

This was a good shopping experience because I did my homework, compared model numbers and I did save on cost by purchasing this unit from Maxtool.

If not satisfied with purchase, perhaps the description was not read.  Make sure you do your homework and comparisons.  Compare exact model numbers.  Ask questions, do not assume.

Max Tools a price gouger?

AUTHOR: Thomas - ()

I read the Rip-off Report about MAX TOOLS categorically stating they are overpriced. My recent experience as of today, 5/22/13, is exactly the opposite! I researched prices for the Honda EU3000I generator and found MAX TOOLS to be the cheapest at $1,899 delivered, hundreds of dollars less than most others. My generator arrived today by FEDEX exactly 5 days after I ordered it (California to Oklahoma). It was shipped the same day I placed the order. I would happily do business with them again.

I believe that anyone complaining about overpricing on the internet isn't doing their homework. You always find varying prices for any particular item and one company isn't going to consistantly be the lowest. Customer Service is another issue (also a complaint about MAX TOOLS on Rip-off Report) and since my generator arrived in perfect condition, I do not need to send it back. Even saving a hundred dollars is sometimes worth a gamble - I'll spend that $100 for a couple of accessories.
