Received a Privacy message by U.S. mail from May National Bank of Arizona and May National Bank of Ohio claiming that they extend credit for Robinson-May and its other affiliated stores.

This message states that they respect my desire to protect my privacy with its employees and limit access to my personal information.

Also stated in this message is that they maintain careful security procedures to help gurad your personal information against unauthorized access.

However they are requesting my Robinson-May account number, full name, address, home phone, & daytime telephone be sent to them by mail.

Also stated is If you do no want your personal financial information shared to call 1-888-717-4128 or complete the form with the info. I meantioned and mail in a sealed envelope.

If they are a ligitamately affiliated with Robinson/May they should have my account number and not be requesting it be sent by mail to them.

The 888 number when dial is a recording and ask for your account number as well and does not give you the option of speaking with a representative if wrong account number is entered.

This appears to be a scam. If this was ligitamate they would already know my account number and all I would have to do is
mark yes or no to whether I want my financial information shared.

People think carefully about any personal information you give to anyone and know whom you're giving it to.

I called my local Robinson-May an reported this and they said that they were not familiar are affiliated with May National Bank of Arizona or Ohio.

What do you think. Is this a scam

Min. Payment What a Joke

AUTHOR: Karen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 11, 2004

Their minimum payment is a Joke. How do they calculate their min. payment on a 300.00 balance they want a 100.00 min. payment. Before you can talk to anyone (YOU Can't) their charging you late fees try to call and put in your acct. number I always get a this acct. number has no record, if that the case then I owe you no money. I even said o instead of zero, that didn't work. Notice to that they don't have an eight hundred number listed anywhere on their credit card. The bill you have to look high and low. I don't need it. thank you.

This sounds like a standard opt-out privacy notice, not a scam.

AUTHOR: Val - (U.S.A.)

May National Bank of Ohio issues the May Company credit cards, which includes Lord & Taylor, Mayco, and Robinson stores. They mail them in bulk and have no idea whether or not you will respond, so they use your account number to flag your account with your privacy preferences.
