Mayflower Moving & Storage They are ripoff artists! Santa Clara California

I hired Mayflower Moving & Storage to move my 4 bedroom house from Antioch, CA to Pleasant Hill, CA. They gave me a quote of 3 men, 1 truck, 3 hours. When the movers arrived they informed me to sign a blank contract in case I needed additional packing materials. I asked if that meant boxes, and he said yes. When I noticed the movers wrapping my furniture I asked them why and they informed me it was so they would not be liable for damages to my furniture. When I saw them wrapping my steel, locked, file cabinets, they said it was to protect them for damages inside the truck. When I saw them wrap other items, I asked again and they said they did not want their men to get injured. They even taped my crutches! Also during this move, I was constantly being told how beautiful I was, why I was single, and that the mover was single too. I then found him in my underwear drawer telling me I had to pack it! They then told me there was not enough room in the truck and left behind my beds and nightstands plus other miscellaneous items. Why show up in a Penske rental truck vs. one of Mayflowers bigger moving trucks when they knew they have to move a 4 bedroom home. They were at my home in Antioch for 4 1/2 hours and then charged me 1 1/2 hours travel time to Pleasant Hill when it only takes 1/2 hour one way. When I got to Pleasant Hill my bill was $2,578 and I was charged $1,654 for packing supplies which I never requested. My quote included free use of moving pads for furniture wrapping. Why should I have to pay to protect their liability? They quickly moved my furniture inside my new home putting dressers and bookcases upside down. There are scratches on my table, my office desk is missing screws, my dressers leg is broken, and now the drawer won't close, my I-pod docking station does not work and an antique cabinet is scratched. To add insult to injury, they even stole my I-pod nano, and my daughters DSi. When I tried to speak with the owner the day of the move he was unavailable. I have already filed a police report regarding the theft and plan on taking them to court. If there are any attorneys interested in taking this case or starting a class action lawsuit please contact me. AVOID Mayflower Moving and Storage at all costs!
