MCM-Midland Credit Management Multiple attempts to resolve an identity theft case with no resolutions...and they hung up on me! Los Angeles California

I had my identity stolen in 2001, since then I have had to deal with the mess that was left to me. An account was opened in my name with my SS#. This account was, of course, delinquent and sent to MCM for debt collection. I wrote them a detailed letter in December of 2006 with the details, including the police report documentation. Yesterday I received another notice that this same account was overdue.

I called MCM and could not believe how I was treated! The "account representative" was very rude, arrogant, and had no customer compassion. He hung up on me before I could even finish telling him my problem. I called back and got another "representative". I asked for a customer service supervisor and was told that there was none. She then asked "are you calling to talk about the account or just tell someone that you were hung up on?" I explained my problem to her and all she said was to send another dispute letter.

I have tried to find any other kind of contact information, specifically a different phone number that I can communicate with someone other than an "account representative". I am very frustrated that I am a victim, have taken all the necessary and recommended steps to correct the problem, and still have been treated this way by MCM. I will of course, go ahead and send them the proper information AGAIN. However, I will also explore other avenues to make sure that this doesn't happen to others.

Even if this was my debt to resolve, they have no right to treat individuals in this way.
