Menards/Midwest Manufacturing Be aware of warentee, there isn't one! Poor quality all around. DO NOT buy exterior door from Menards. Eau Claire,WI Nationwide

Purchaced a decortive exterior glass steel door with side lights from Menards. Less then 1 1/2 years later the argon gas that insulates the glass leaked out. I filled out an installed guest complaint form on May 23, 2013. Come to find out the warentee covers only manufacture defects and only replacement parts and for some reason the gas escaping was not a "manufacture defect."Or so I was told.  I have since spoken to many builders, door makers and installers that all say there is no other way for gas to leak out especially in such a short period of time.

Midwest Manufacturing offered to send me a peice of glass that I could install myself on the exterior door that was originally made as one big piece. The glass was 22" x 64" and they sent me instructions on how to install it. This was not acceptable and after months of arguing with them they eventually sent me a new door. Although the rough opening size was right, the bore and mortise for the lock on the edge of the door and the hinge bores were off from the door frame already there. This of coarse made the door useless. 

Long story short, Menards owns Midwest Manufacturing. Neither one of the companys stood behind there very poor quality product. I ended up going through a completely different door company for a new exterior door and being 100% out all the money I spent at Menards for (what I thought) had a lifetime warentee, because I had asked the sales man. Do not go to Menards for large building products for your home. You will be dissappointed and it will end up costing you more money.
