Hi folks, nice to see everyone is catching on to Merchant Credit Guide's ripoff. I am still receiving phone calls from the infamous Ken Hughes but recently I have been getting other calls with return codes like D2AXXX or VS7XXX. I think that they are all coming from Merchants Credit Guide but I need confirmation of the callers company names.
Does anyone recognize any the following names and can you match them with a company name for me?
Jamie Fisher
Chris Jones
David Crain
Barry Filmore
Jake Austin
Kevin Rogers
Before I return any of these calls I would like to know who I am dealing with. I will call them back and send them either a debt validation or C&D letter. My 3 credit reports are clean and the only previous debts I had were from 1997 (past the CRA 7 year status and well past the Texas 4 year SOL).
If anyone can connect the above names with collection agency names, please respond.

I think I recognize Kevin Rogers as being with Merchants. I can't be 100% certain of that.
As Tammy said, be careful. Keep checking your report.
It doesn't matter to them that the SOL has passed for both collection and reporting. They will still report. I got a letter from Merchants last month regarding a debt that is now 12 years old. I pulled my credit files and they have reported it as a collection account as of May 31, 2006.
I have written all the necessary letters and I am sure this will get cleared up but its the nerve of these people that get me. Keep checking your credit file.

Hi James, sorry dont know any of thoes names yet, But will you do me a big favor? Will you please look on your credit report and see if that CA put a soft inquiry on your credit report? The reason I asked is because#1, they was looking at mines in January of this year, but no collection has showed up by them yet. #2 I heard that collection agency tries to collect on old debts past the SOL. I really need to know this so I can beat them to the punch by sending them a VOD before they ruin my credit report. Thanks
