Merry Maids - Rockland County, New York Beware the bait and trap or your most expensive cleaning ever ripoff New City New York

I recently ordered Merry Maids to clean our house as a present for my wife. The local owner came and examined our house and told us the first cleaning was $70 an hour (two people cleaning). After examining the house he estimated that it should take about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. We said OK.

When the cleaners came we told them that 2 bedrooms did not need to be cleaned (they were occupied) which by my reasoning should lessen the cleaning time by some degree.

By the time they left 4 3/4 hours had expired, That's with 2 less rooms to clean!
So my initial cleaning cost app. $323.00

To top that off the company never called back to see if we wanted regular cleanings (which they offered at a much lower constant cost basis).

I feel we were taken advantage of and I wonder if this isn't a regular routine with this office of the company.
