Nebraskan Paul Otis (aka Jay Ottis and several other pseudonyms) is behind this and four other rip-off reports.  Please see a multitude of complaints about him at complaintsboard.com and the Jay Ottis Fraud Alert System at jay ottis.com.  Otis hired MRG to represent his line of characters at the annual licensing convention in Las Vegas in June, 2010.  During the convention, we discovered that Otis lied about his ownership of the characters, which created a major problem in attracting investors.  Immediately after the convention, Otis angrily demanded we repay him all fees and expenses.  We declined and Otis began his internet campaign to unfairly defame us with outrageous and completely false allegations.  In regards to our 16-year history with the Golden Globes during which we built the program into one of the world's top three awards telecast, there was a dispute at the end of our long association that was settled out of court.  The Michael Russell Group is proud of its 18-year history and outstanding reputation as one of California's most creative and accomplished agencies. Unfortunately, no one is safe from absurd and defamatory accusations made online by unsavory individuals.
