Mid .Atlantic Finance Co Screwed by Mid Atlantic out of Clearwater Florida, Clearwater Florida

We purchased a 2001 Ford F-150 Crew Cab from a local dealer in Fort Walton Beach Florida making payments directly to the dealer from Feburary 2005 to May 12, 2006 at which time our loan was transferred to Mid Atlantic Finance Co. in Clearwater Florida. With out any prior notice the dealer transferred the loan to help us build back our credit. We have made monthly payments since June 2006, since we had no prior notice we made the June 2006 payment to the dealer.

Some time in June we recieved a letter saying Mid Atlantic was taking over our loan, we have made our monthly payments and sent each payment registered so we would have proof we were faithfully paying off the truck. I called Mid Atlantic some time in November 2007 to find out when our loan would be paid off in full and was told by an unnamed lady it would be paid off in March 2008. I was satisfied with the answer and looked forward to paying off the loan and getting the title on my truck.

Here it is 30 May 2008, and I do not have a title and every time I call to inquire why I have not received my title some rude loan officer puts me on eternal hold. Every month we have been called and harrassed by them to make sure we made our payment and even had some guy in an old pick up come to the house and ask for the payment which was already mailed certified. Our vehicle is paid off and I want my clear title so I can use it as a trade in or sell. PAID IN FULL! Also we talked to the dealer we bought it from and they told us we may have to hire an attorney because if Mid-Atlantic is not giving us our title that they have borrowed money against the title of Our Truck and are stringing us along or trying to make us pay their debt.

We have determined that since the Better Business Bureau has not had success in getting our information that next week we are going to vist the State Attorney's Office. If I get no satisfaction there look for me on TV because I will be screaming to whomever will listen and take action.
