Midas Went in for front brake pads-padded tab- misled-scam on lifetime warranty. Benton Harbor, Michigan

Made appointment- front brake pads- quoted $139.99- plus tax- 45 minutes wait. Arrived at 7:30 am- 45 minutes into appointment- took me to car which was in air- all tires removed- great detail explaining what I should do- asked tech several times if rotors were bad- not yet was response. Told me rear brake pads were going bad- not knowing I just had changed four weeks before- all the while saying things were going to get worse-then took me in a seperate office-I made it clear I was prepared to pay $139.99 plus tax- as quoted. Repeatedly insisting if I didn't spend more- brake grinding noise would still be there. Mechanic continually asked what all they were doing- rudely insisted if I didn't go with recommendations- noise would still be there. Then proceeded to tell me thAt I shouldn't drive car much- all along saying nothing was bed "yet". Once again told two employees- to go with my quote/ work we discussed. Mechanic rudely said, noise was going to continue- and it would take another 45 minutes to put together- they would call me when ready! Final bill had extra $11.20 on it- once again, not in quote- said it was shop supply cost. Pass down cost of anything used in shop while working on car? That is their business! Consumer has to pay for them to maintain business??? Once again- on way out- of I didn't come back in two weeks, complete $720 worth of work- including new front tires- warranty wouldn't exist, even old tires will wear pads down. Total scam! Was lied to, embarrassed- harrassed about my financial situation- left at 9:49 am- felt blackmailed and tricked!
