On 12/01/05, I took my 2002 Jeep Liberty in to the Long Beach Midas for it's 60K mile service. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle the next day I was informed that the work was completed and proceeded to pay a total of $363.23 for the work. After having paid, I was informed by the store manager that there was a problem with the transmission and my vehicle was no longer driveable. (Keep in mind that my vehicle is only a 2002 and it has NEVER had any transmission problems in the past). The manager agreed to redo the work himself to make sure that it had been done correctly and I was forced to leave my vehicle at the shop again.

The next day, I called and spoke with the manager who stated that they were unable to determine what they had done wrong and that he had already contacted his superior to inform him of the situation. The manager stated that the plan would be to have a diagnostic completed on the transmission to determine what they had done wrong and then make the necessary repairs, however they would need to receive authorization from their insurance prior to that. I then requested that they provide me with a rental car in the mean time and the manager stated that they would also need to have authorization from their insurance for that.

It has now been over a week and my 2002 Jeep Liberty is still at the Long Beach Midas shop. I have been in contact with the store manager just about every day since my vehicle has been at this shop and I have gotten the same story each day, "I am waiting for my boss to speak with our insurance so that the repairs can be authorized and a rental provided." I have asked to speak with his boss directly and have not been provided with a phone number where he can be reached. I have also contacted Midas Inc, customer relations line numerous times and was told that the issue had been forwarded to the franchise owner who would call me with a resolution within 72 hours. Needless to say, it's definately been over 72 hours and I have not heard from him.

It is absurd that Midas made me pay for the services completed to my vehicle only to inform me afterwards that they had done something wrong to my car and that it was no longer driveable. My vehicle is still at the Midas shop and no resolution has been provided to me.
