I do not believe that while under any bankruptcy a collector can buy the rights to a vehicle title as all collection efforts are to be ceased. From my personal experience with a Chap 13 a creditor held the title as the vehicle had been used as collateral to secure a loan with that creditor. My lawyer was able to settle the "debt" for $85.00 and the title was released immediately. Follow up with your attorney to insure s/he did what was needed to be done in getting the title released.
