This however is nowhere near my biggest problem with them. Because of the delay in finding my loan, they have always shown me to be a month behind on my mortgage even after paying them 2 months at once! This month I got fed up and sent them 2 separate payments guaranteed overnight delivery by postal money order in the same envelope. I went into my account on Saturday and it showed 1 payment credited but no mention of the other one at all! These payments were in the exact same envelope! The customer service rep said she would check on it and see what happened but that it was common for 2 separate payments in the same envelope to not be processed at the same time. Come on, you're trying to tell me that some moron in their billing processing department opens an envelope and finds multiple payments inside, takes one out and processes it and discards the other one until a later date? Either that makes them a complete idiot or a complete liar, one of the two!!
I have been having this problem like I said since they took over the loan. They will tell me that I am a month behind so I pay two payments at the same time(One for the arrears and one for the current payment) which catches me up and makes my account current, right? Wrong! The very next month they tell me that they received the 2 payments but that I am still one month behind! This has been going on for a year now and I have absolutely had it with them stealing thousands of dollars from me and claiming it's my fault because I am behind on my mortgage and affecting my credit report.
So this month I got fed up with their actions and actually set them up for a change! I intentionally sent the multiple payments by postal money order and guaranteed overnight delivery by United States Postal Service for a reason. I knew that they would find a way to only give me partial credit for the payment, which they immediately did just like in the past. The only difference is because I used everything for the payment through the US postal service, their intentional misappropriation of funds is now a Federal crime!!
It was obvious that the customer service representative was smart enough to know what I was doing, because the very first thing she wanted to verify with me was that the money order was actually issued by the United States Postal Service! When I told her yes it was and that it was intentionally sent that way because of their deceptive tactics in the past, that was when she told me that all collection proceeding in regards to my account would stop immediately and that they would also immediately track down and post that payment within 2 business days!!
This company knows exactly what is going on by their representatives, no matter what department they work in and they normally don't care. However, they obviously care a lot more when you find a way to get them criminally investigated by the US government. My advice to anybody who is having trouble with Midland Mortgage is start making your payments with Postal Money Orders and sending them with signature confirmation required by the US Post Office. They are willing to take their chances with anybody else, lawyers etc. They are NOT however willing to take their chances with being Federally investigated and prosecuted!! I hope this helps some of the hundreds of other people who are having trouble with this company!!

I am not on anyone's side, but I do know that most payments sent to any large organization are not processed by individuals but my machines. They are called payment processing centers. The bar codes on your coupon or statement make it easy for the computer operated mail opener to process your payment. There is a chance that 2 separate payments in the same envelope get separated because the system may not read the 2nd one.
Automation has made having these issues almost extinct with ACH programs and even bill pay directly through your bank. I understand that times are extremely hard, but looking into these options may be helpful to you and help eleviate the stress that you are going through unnecessarily.
