On about August 6 of 2006, we went into Midway Chevrolet to look into buying a new truck. We were helped by a salesman named Steve who was actually a pleasure to work with. Actually on th day we were at the dealership they did have a bit ofa pressure tactic but it was not as bad as I have experienced before. The time we spent there to buy our truck was overall a pleaureable experience.

Two days before the end of the month while I was
in Michigan attending a family emergency we get receive a phone call about a "financing problem"

Basically the problem was that Midway Chevrolet failed to complete our financing and was trying to make it our problem. When in all reality the problem is theirs and not ours. They asked us if we could come in and get "re-cared" since they could not secure the financing that they had already told us what "not a problem". They were also talking about the possibility of removing some of the aftermarket options that we had chosen in order to secure the financing. I stated to them that "I would not resign anything unless the error was in my favor. Because last time I checked once loan documnets were signed it was not my problem." At this point we were threatened by the F&I person that they would "put the vehicle out for repossesion, if we did not cooperate with them."

Tomorrow, Labor day 2006, I am heading over to Midway Chevrolet to see what they have to say in person. I will refuse to sign anything that does NOT work in my favor (i.e. lower payments)

I will update this when I get ack from the dealership tomorrow.

Dan....NEVER take possession of the car until the financing is APPROVED..

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 18, 2006

This is a common scam to get you on the hook, and to dispose of your trade so you feel trapped in the bad deal.

NEVER take possession of the vehicle until the financing is APPROVED. NEVER!!!!

Approved, means that the name of a bank and a signature of a loan officer will be on the document along with full terms such as payment amount, iterest rate, and number of months with total amount financed fully disclosed.

You made it your problem when you took the vehicle without financing in place.
