Modelmayhem attacked on modelmayhem Internet

This is a response to the OP's two rebuttals against me.

Well, technically you have the privilege of posting here. You were absolutely able to post here and nothing I did prevented you from posting.

I didn't freak out. I merely pointed out that you weren't ripped off and you only pointed people towards the very thread you didn't want the public to see.

This doesn't even make sense. What I think of your opinion is irrelevant. As for the people in that thread, there were several who make a living through their photography and modeling. That does make them professionals.

Quite the contrary. You did vent. Nobody at ModelMayhem blocked your ability to post here.

No, I'm not being paid and I don't have a mission to shoot you down. I pointed out that you weren't ripped off and supplied a few details that you left out of your report such as using the wrong job profile.

I'm not a mod and certainly not a model either. Are you suggesting that I am a GWC?

Freedom of speech doesn't apply in this case. If Congress were trying to keep you from posting here, you'd have a case. You post here at the pleasure of Ed. Posting a rebuttal against your report has nothing to do with the right to free speech.

I pulled up the forum thread that the OP referred to and reviewed it. In the interests of full disclosure, I've been a part of the forums at ModelMayhem for years, long before IB purchased the site. I will address the OP's complaint:

"i particpated in modelmayhem's forum asking a question and thought it had been deleted because i had gotten a message from a moderator telling me if i was not a model i didn't belong on their website. which shocked me because their are make-up artists ,agencies, and wardrobe stylists advertising themselves on their site."

I can immediately see what the problem was with your profile. You were posting under a model profile but you wrote that you were not a model anymore. You claimed to be a wardrobe assistant. You don't have to be a model to have a profile on that site but you do need to be listed under the correct job type. You should have created a new profile as a Wardrobe Stylist. In any case, that's no reason to assume that your thread would have been deleted. That's not IB policy though they will lock and hide threads under certain circumstances.

By the way, your thread did violate the forum rules. Did you read them before posting? Most of them had some fun with you but I wouldn't call them attacks. Those boards can be brutal and what you saw was nothing. If you don't believe me, ask any of the old timers about "The Thread". They'll know what you're talking about.

"three months later i stumble over my thread by googling my name and saw taht it had not been deleted but went on for 4 pages long. it was one attack on me after another. they ripped me apart and no moderator stopped them. only one person defended me. but i didn't get any notifications that anyone was posting on my thread otherwise i would have reported them earlier. now it's on the web for the public to see me humiliated. when i contacted a moderator, 3 months later, i asked if i could still report them and if it could be deleted the post? she never answered my second question but did rudely say it doesn't makes sense for me to be complaining now. i told her it makes sense to me it does not to you cause it didn't happen to you."

Why would you have expected any notifications that people were responding to the thread? Most forums don't do that (Amazon and ROR being two notable exceptions.) If you don't want the public to see what you post on the internet, then you should stay away from publicly accessible forums. Most people wouldn't have known about the thread if you hadn't mentioned it here on ROR. By the way, ROR doesn't delete threads either so you've effectively just created a path to the very thread that you didn't want people to see. If this thread sees a lot of activity then it will also come up high on search results.

"i never got an apology nor any response in return. they call themselves professional photographers and models, both attacked me on my post, but they have no life to go out of their way and they are wannabees, gwc's guy's with cameras. it's insulting to real models and real photographers that tehse people  call themselves with those titles. it's an attack forum no matter how innocently you try to participate and the moderators are a joke. they do not care. i deleted my account and wish i had never had one with these corrupt people in the first place."

There were a number of very prominent photographers and models responding to your thread. I wouldn't be so quick to label them as wannabees or GWCs.
