Money Map Press Money Map Report Don't Contact Them in Any Way or You'll Be Ripped Off Baltimore Internet

A year ago I responded to an offer of free financial advice related to social security from these guys. I paid "shipping costs" of a little under $5.00. The package arrived and was either elementary information, misleading information or nonsensical. I chalked up the $5.00 spent to experience and threw the various information packets away. A month later these people charged $79.00 on an automatic withdrawal from my checking account. As it happened, I didn't notice it. This month--almost a year later, they charge me again and this time I caught it. 

I phoned them and told them that I hadn't authorized any withdrawals from my account and asked them to refund the money. They said they'd refund the most recent charge but "couldn't do anything about the earlier charge." Why? Well, "because you authorized it in the original agreement you signed." I said, OK, send me a copy of that agreement. They said it's been a year, they might not be able to find it. I said, what you're saying is that you have no proof, but you're unwilling to refund the money. 

I'm filing a complaint against these guys--basically internet fraudsters--with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the federal agency put into service in 2008 toto  handle this kind of problem. If you've had a similar problem with these people go to http://www.consumerfinance.gov/ 

I've filed two complaints with them in the past few years and both times the parties I was complaining about did what they should have done to begin with--refunded my money.
