I was called by motorzoousa.com. They offered to sell my truck for $2000 more than what I wanted for it. They said they could get higher prices for the vehicles because they work with lending institutions, and people that have bad credit pay more for vehicles.
They told me that my truck would be advertised at the top of yahoo, msn, and other search engines. It would always show up first. I was also told I would have an auction on ebay, and if the truck didn't sell, I would have a follow auction on auctionfire.
First they told me it would cost $500, then I said that's a lot. Then, the sales person told me how about $400. She told me she could guarantee my truck be sold in 60 days. I asked if they had a money back guarantee. I have had other agencies call me and they offer money back guarantees, but charge a service charge.
I asked her specifically 2-3 times, "if you don't sell my truck in 60 days I get my $400 back, and no service charge." She said yes, everytime I asked. I told her there is no way I would do this if there was no guarantee I get my money back if you don't sell my vehicle, and she said she understood.
They did nothing for a couple of days but take my money. Then I called to find out what was going on. I bought their service on the 13th of April. I did some research on the company and found the BBB has an unsatisfactory report on them, and they have been reported as a ripoff on websites. On there website it says no refunds, unless you sell your vehicle for what they are trying to sell it at.
This is the catch, they promise people a large amount of money for their vehicle, and nobody is going to pay that much, and they know it. So you can't sell it for that much by yourself, therefore no refund, because nobody is going to pay that much. It also says they give no cash refunds, only credits to post another vehicle for free.
I called customer service to voice my concerns. Lori the head of customer service just had excuses, and tried to change the subject any time she could. She said maybe I misunderstood the refund credit as a cash refund. She said people do it all the time (Other words they rip people off like this all the time).
I did NOT misunderstand anything, I asked specifically a few times. She told me that a manager would call and guarantee my money back in 60 days like I was told. This was on the 17th of April, and still have not heard from a manager. I did call on the 21st of April to talk to Lori, but she dodged my call, and never called back.
Here I am on the 24th of April, I called Lori again today, and she said a manager did call, but I never received a call, nor did it show up on my caller ID. She gave me the number to a manager named Paul. He also was too busy to take my call, and did not return my call. I still have no ebay auction, nor auctionfire auction, nor my truck shows up on any websites.
Auctionfire is a joke anyways. It's a free European auction site. The only vehicles up for auction are motorzoousa.com vehicles. There are about 800 of them, and they have no bids on them. No one in Europe is going to buy a Toyota Tundra. A total scam. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge.
I am thinking about contacting my fraternity brother who is a news reporter that does a lot of "on your side stories" about consumer beware type stuff. I think this would make a great story, due to the fact that there are many agencies doing this. I will be contacting the Attorney Generals of all states involved, and filing a report with the BBB. I expect a full refund from this company of my $400.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Really, Still playing the SAME games?

Jeez I love MZUSA. These people are still ripping people off. They have NO buyers at any time. Auctionfire is a poorly maintained site, in which usually scammers and people who screwed up on ebay too often use. Also the will not let go of a penny, even if they directly violate the TOC on the website, which also the pricetag for the site is a rip off, its just a simple web form that some monkey fills out and presses a button and voila a site is born. Where most of the cost goes is the salesmans commission and to fatten the owners pockets. The owners frequently took money out of the business account to use for personal use and when it came time to pay some employees they would look for ways to not pay them or outright fire them. I among other ex employees have recieved numerous bad paychecks from them. The business practices are decitful. They do not work to sell a vehicle, just get your money, make the 5 min. web page, put you on auctionfire, which is a joke, and then forget about you. If you want your money back or anything they will try to sell you an upgrade like ebay or something, which if they do that you really should look at how much an ebay auto auction costs. They get almost 50% proffit off of that. Just search for motorzoo on this site and read all the wonderful things. this has been going on for way too long. C. Doucette and G. Robertson need to be stopped from ripping off more consumers and hard workers. they had to move out of las Vegas because they screwed over way too many folks. Springville Utah is their new location.
