I purchased books from Kevin Trudeau for $100, with the understanding that I would get a $100 Walmart gift card rebate so that the purchase would cost -0- .  After nearly a year of waiting for the rebate, I contacted the Trudeau organization and was told that a company called Mpell was handling the rebate and to contact them.  After talking with a very belligerent man at Mpell, who tried to convince me that it had been too long, I prevailed by being bull-headed and threatening a small claims lawsuit. He agreed to send me the documents to get my rebate.  This turned out to be 12 certificates to be mailed to Mpell, one each month, it which I was supposed to buy 1 item of $10 or more as evidenced by a Walmart receipt.  I was then supposed to receive a $10 check from Mpell within 8-10 weeks.  This is a far cry from a $100 gift card, making me pay $200 to get the $100 back, but like the thousands and millions of suckers before and after me, I succumbed to their treatment, thinking that I would at least get my $100 back.  I got the first 2 $10 checks, then Mpell started their crooked ways, by denying the claim because I did not buy the item within 30 days, (their rule). Then the next month I was denied for the same reason, but I didnt know about the rule that month because they did not notify me about the first denial until the next one was late.  The third denial came as ruled because I had not submitted the claim within a 30 days after the certificate date, a condition I say is wrong because February doesnt have 30 days, but them December and January has 31 days and the items were purchased on the 31st, but the claim was denied under the 30 day rule!.
Mpell is a company that is supposed to handle rebates, refunds, discounts, etc due to consumers for purchasing or contracting certain eligible offerings from supposed legitimate retail companies.  Mpell establishes its own administrative rules and procedures that are not revealed to the consumer in any way until submittal.  The companies that make these offers are complicit in the fraudulent way Mpell operates in denying claims for reasons that they control without regard to notice of the consumer until after a time, that they establish, causes the claim to be unqualified under their rules  ( not the original offering company or the consumer}.
They are, in everyway, one of the most un-American, unfair, and illegitimate operation in our economic system.  The only reason for their existence is to cheat consumers out of as much money as they can and, with the poor PR their clients get from their operation, one would believe that those retail companies are fully aware of the scam and probably participate in the money taken from the consumer, either directly or through executive skimming.  Wont anyone in the legal profession or consumer protection boards, please cause action to brought against Mpell and their clients for their egregiously  crooked actions?  How about someone who wants to make a name for themselves with a class action suit?  Mpells clients include banks, hardware stores, retail stores, utilities, etc.  I suggest that you go to mpell.com and review their client list and refuse to do business with them because they are just as guilty as Mpell.  The only way to deal with dishonest companies like this is to sue and/or cost them sales!.
