Mr. Auto Sales used car dealer stolen money deposit rip-off Eastlake Ohio

On August 6th 2007 I test drove a 2001 Subaru Outback from Mr. Auto Sales in Eastlake, Ohio. I liked the vehicle and they suggested I leave a deposit to hold the car until I could return with my parents to get the deal started. I wrote them a check for $400, they gave me a receipt, and I left.

I returned that evening with my Step-Father to see what he thought about the car, but they said we couldn't get anything started until they came back from Florida in a week's time. They were leaving Tuesday morning.

As the week passed, I was unable to secure the appropriate finances for the car. They never called me back, so I had to get in touch with them. I called on Friday, August 17th and told them I would have to come in and get my deposit back. He told me to think about it, talk again to my parents and see.

That weekend I noticed that my deposit check had been cashed. When I called my bank I saw that it had cleared on August 8th, just two days after I left it with them, only ONE DAY after they left for Florida. I called back on Monday, August 20th and again on Tuesday the 21st. They kept telling me to call back.

When I finally got a hold of the man who was dealing with me, one Bruno Razov, he told me that they would not be giving my deposit back. He said it was his "policy", although it was never spoken of and it said absolutely nothing on the receipt AND no papers were signed.

I called just once more and even stopped back in to try and get my money back, and still they refused. They said they have collected thousands of dollars from customer deposits, and that if I really want to fight it they will see me in court.
