We never hired anyone to clean our windows before, so this whole experience is new to us. We live in a middle-class area, relatively quiet. This man, Ken Karlewiscz arrived with a two guys. I really don't judge people on appearance, nor do I assign stereotypes to individual ethnicities, but just by look of these guys inside my home raised my awareness and red flags.
They were seedy looking indivduals (none of whom spoke coherent english), dressed in ragged clothing with darting eyes taking inventory. My wife stared at me for a moment in silent question of these guys. They began their work and within minutes the smell of mildewed rags permeated my home.
I should've listened to my intuition. These guys left with my wife's $8,000 engagement ring which was in a jewelry box in our walk-in closet. The visual thought of these guys rummaging through my drawers in my closet turns my stomach. We feel so violated!
After contacting Ken. He said we don't know what we're talking about...not to call him again. Very mean, vulgar, and disrespectful. So we called the police. With my being a retired Clarkstown Police Officer myself, I quickly learned that Ken Karlewicz and his band of thieves are well known criminals in the eyes of the law.
They have numerous thefts reported against them. One of which $25,000 worth of jewelry stolen from a home in Stony Point, NY. Another brazen theft was Mr.K himself (according to his accompolice) dropping a sock full of jewelry from a window into the bushes to be retireved when they went to clean the outside windows. Ken wasn't charged in that incident, but his workers were. They were undocumented, illegal immigrants. His crew changes every year according to the police because they all go to jail!
In any regard, once the police contacted Ken, we got a phone call from him. Without any shame, he asked if he returned our engagement ring, would we not press charges. The audacity! Not only did we demand the return of our personal property, WE PRESSED CHARGES! Mr.K then regarded us with colorful expletives.
Whatever you do. Do NOT let this man into your home! They are CRIMINALS!

The story you just read about the sock being dropped out of the window.
Yes that did in fact did happen!
However, the person who did this is the person who most likly wrote this FALSE REPORT.

EX employee of MR K's- Who unfortunatley did not run a backround check on Jason.
But that has all changed after this happened im sure. Ken is a smart guy.
I was working for Ken at the time that burglery took place.
Jason was fired that same day. He turned in the items that he had stolen so he would not ga BACK to prison.
This guy JASON spent over 10 years in a state prison for attempted murder.
He bragged to me about what a tough guy he was and how much time he did when we would be cleaning windows on the same job or at lunch stops.
I honestly did not even believe him until after i learned what he did that day.
The reason why ths story was reported and flipped around was due to the FACT that " PRISM WINDOW CLEANING ( JASON ) was exposed for the crimes that he has comitted in the past.
All of which are public records and TRUE.
I worked for Ken until i got my degree and moved on .
When i read this post i had to set the record straight as this story that was posted is Exactly what happened the last week i worked with Ken & Jason.
If the person who wrote the post is in fact a retiered police officer, then they should get the police report and get their story straight before posting false information.
I can assure you that MR K's is the most honest window cleaning company around.
My mother used them since i was 2 years old. when i turned 19 and needed a job Ken helped me out. I am white and speak perfect english. So again, the claim that were made are so far from the truth its just sad that some people can actually sleep at night knowing the story they are telling is truely THEIR OWN TRUE STORY... !
