Mullican Flooring Finish warranties are worthless. We had a beautiful 3/4" floor laid 3 yrs ago. Did all we were told to do for cleaning, etc.

Several months ago we noticed more and more finish issues in random areas, even unwalked-on areas.  Dullness, bevel finish chipping out, etc. Had emailed them about it, followed instructions, had our installer come look at it, etc.

Mullican hired a certified inspector and the report clearly shows  under and and over wood readings as dry...but the played up moisture issues. He came out from the space quite dry!

The installer checked for moisture issues prior to install and we fixed had some minor ones when we first bought the house 11 yrs ago.(8yrs prior to our floors). Mullican denied our warranty claim for a failed finish sighting moisture issues and won't discuss any further.

I would like to know how any kind of minimal moisture from underneath can penetrate a subfloor, the moisture barriers and 3/4"Oak, only to ruin the finish..and quite at random at that...the crawlspace is under the entire house!

So as much as I raved about our flooring when it was put down...Forget it...I will tell anyone considering true hardwood NOT to choose Mullican products ...ever. Their 50 yr warranty is a lie.

Based on the limited information available provided above, we were unable to locate the specific details of this complaint or the independent inspection report referenced. Please be assured that customer satisfaction is very important to Mullican Flooring, and we want to ensure that all customer complaints are thoroughly investigated. We frequently commission independent inspectors certified by the National Wood Flooring Association to inspect customer complaints.

This is done to protect both you as the homeowner and Mullican as the manufacturer. It is always our goal to find out what has caused the problem at hand. If the inspector finds that your complaint has occurred due to manufacturing defects, Mullican is glad to repair or replace the floor depending on the inspection findings. Concerns related to installation or job site conditions (such as moisture) are not covered by Mullicans Limited Residential Warranty.
