myfico.com Free trial, not free. Costs $17.95 - Bait and switch. Internet

The online advertisement at www.myfico.com promised a free service to monitor credit scores. It states at the front "get your FICO score. Free." The site states that you may sign up for a free trial and if you cancel and your credit card will not be charged.

I signed up for the free trial and promptly cancelled. My card was charged 17.95. When I contacted the company for a refund they responded:

Hi David,

Thank you for contacting myFICO Customer Care. You also made a one time purchase and we do not refund for this product once it is ordered.

Oncea FICO Score Report is purchased, the score and the credit profile from that date is the only one that you will be able to access- it is not updated as the information in the credit file changes and therefore will not reflect a new score.


If I made any one-time purchase, in the process of signing up for a free trial, I was misled by the website as to what I was purchasing.  This is a bait-and-switch, which is illegal.  I am interested in filing charges if anyone knows how.
