Scam !!!, I signed up for a free online access to Myhousedeals.com for a month. It was advertised for $39 a month there after. I called their number (800-973-0233) and canceled the account within the trial period. Then I noticed that they have charged me $59.76 three times on my credit card. I tried to resolve this issue with Myhousedeals.com but they are ignoring my request for the refund. This company is making money by scam and promise of free trial period. There are a lot of cases that people have reported similar to mine and I am sure there are thousands of cases that people have not reported to anyone.

We contacted 'Philly Investor' about his complaint. Here's what we found out...

Our basic membership package is currently priced at $39.80 per month after a 30-day free trial period. Upgrades are available, too these can be added during registration or later on (after new members log on, sometimes special offers pop up before the page re-directs). One example is our Time Saver Package, which includes daily email updates and advanced search options. If a member adds this package to the basic membership, the total would be $59.76/month after the free trial. Most likely, Philly investor accepted this special offer. We never charge more than what we advertise and we never charge more than what each member requests that we include in her membership package.
Going back to the free trial period, we really DO offer a 30-day trial, absolutely free of charge, to each new member before their membership switches to billing mode. Members are only billed if they do not request cancellation before the 30-day period ends. It's our way of giving new members a chance to try out our services before having to pay for them. This is not just an empty promise, nor is it a scam, as Philly would like you to believe. It's a legally-binding element of our Terms of Service that we take seriously and don't back out of; billing for EVERY new member is delayed until 30 days after registration in accordance with the agreement between our members and MyHouseDeals.com.
In Philly investor's case, we called him to try to clarify this situation. He admitted that he may have signed up for the extra services, but just doesn't remember. He also was not able to provide us with a date that he called to cancel his account or the name of a person with whom he spoke. There's really no proof that he ever attempted to cancel his account by telephone, and his account was cancelled as soon as we received his email request.
Philly investor was expecting to get a full refund, despite the fact that he agreed to the Terms of Service when he registered as a member, including billing policies. Our best advice is to ALWAYS make sure you read documents before you click or sign in agreement. Take the time to read through the screens or pages, and take notes on important points like the company's contact information, your responsibilities in the agreement, etc. Then keep that information safely on file somewhere so that you can refer to it when a question about your dealings with that company comes up.
Even though there is no evidence that we were in the wrong, we ended up issuing Philly investor a refund of almost $60 to make up the difference between the monthly charges he agreed to pay when he registered and the Time Saver Package he is unsure about. We feel like that is a fair compromise to the situation and hope that Philly investor logs on to Ripoff Report to update his side of the story.
As far as Philly's statement that there are lots of cases similar to his, we'd have to disagree. Compared to the large number of satisfied members across the country, we'd say that this report doesn't represent the experiences that the majority of our members have with us.
