My husband's exwife has hired National Child Support to collect the so called long time owed Child support payment dated back over 30 years ago in 1975.

According to our attorney, the agency has illegally added outrageous interest to the so called debt mounting to a total of $320,000.  The agency first sent him letters saying if he paid $58,000, the rest of the interest money would be forgiven. 

The representative called our home day and night for months harrassing us that my husband would be put in jail if he did not come up with the money specified in the letter.  One time, they even called my husband's business partner's office (they got the information from his business answering machine greetings) claiming that it was the local sheriff's office looking for my husband who did not pay child support payment.  When I contacted our local sheriff's office and infomed them about such a phone call, they told me they have no such a record of the phone call.  They said it was bizzar that police would do such things without any court orders.

After two years of lawsuit at a county family court, the case has been dismissed by the judge. According to our attorney, the outrageous interest money added by National Child Support was illegal. 

I believe a lot of other divorced fathers have been through the harrassment by National Child Support Agency.  They took advantage of the fact that many men probably were caught off guard and never saved the copies of paid child support checks for 30 some years!  I hope that certain organizations could start investigation on this agency's fraudulent collection conduct, they are truly very skilled con artists!
