I have been dealing with this nasty, rude just ridiculous lady from NES. She started to call my mother for a credit card that is in her name and is past due 6 months. I help my mother out being she is disabled. I have a family of my own and the call that I recv'd from this woman was just horrifying. I do not know how this lady could even be employed by a company. she started out by leaving a msg for my mother and was so very nice on the answer machine but once you are on the phone with her forget it!!! I spoke with the lady being she got my mother upset and she stated that my mother has until Dec 19th to pay the credit card of $7965.29 i told her this was inpossible 2 weeks before christmas HELLO!!! Then she proceeded to tell me I have until Dec 29 to pay it off. I said I will give you half. she stated no. I told her I will need to call you back tomorrow i was in the middle of something. So I did i called her on Friday Dec, 12th. she was just so rude that if i could have jumped thru the phone . I explained to her that it was impossible for me to come up with the much money if they want to be paid in full they need to meet me. she said $6000.00 is the bottom number. I stated let me see i will call you later. I called her back and told her i will need to talk to her on monday the 15th about this and she said Absoultly NOT it needs to be resolved today. I told her that is not going to happen. she said she wanted half of the 6000.00 today i stated that if i had 3000.00 maybe the credit card payment would not have been behind. she proceeded to tell me to get a loan, cash in a 401K, had the balls to tell me to ask family members for a loan etc.... i just started to laugh at her and said are you kidding me.... is this some kind of joke!! she ended the call by telling me that she had no other option but to turn it over to legal department and my mother will need to go to court oh and on top of that i will be charged $2500.00 for legal fees. #1- I have no problem paying the bill for my mom. I just did one 1 year ago for her. #2. This lady at NES was just horrible, rude and my mother had just got out of the hospital from being in there for almost 2 months and not in the best of health. All I could say is they better not call to soon!!

Unless it is a NSF check
I went through the same thing - the "debt collector" told me I would be arrested, my office would be shut down and all the computers would be confiscated, I would lose my job etc etc - She even told me my parents would be arrested
I got smart and sued - I won yet they have failed to pay me or my attorney so the fight goes on
Just let your machine pick up these nasty calls - make a tape recording of them and if you have caller id take photos - you are gonna need them when you hunt them down and SUE them
Just don't give up - Fight back - I did

www.ftc.gov - EDUCATE YOURSELF ON FDCPA LAW
Everything you have stated is ILLEGAL - you have to stop them - by not talking to them and use the law to protect yourself
You can also SUE THEM
www.budhibbs.com - learn about the illegal tactics they use to collect money they are not entitled to.
Where did you get the idea that debt collectors were supposed to be nice? They hire people that are basically un-employable in any other field anyway.
