National Magazine Exchange ripoff, Tried to cancel this order before it was processed, now sending me a delinquent account notice. Clearwater Florida
*UPDATE Employee: All you have to do
I canceled my order before it was processed and the person I spoke with got really rude and beligerant with me over the phone. This was approximately 2 weeks ago, now I am receiving a delinquent account notice. This is not how you conduct proffessional customer service. What kind of people does this company have working for them.
After reading some of these reports on this company, what kind of company is this? All I wanted to do was cancel an order before it was processed because I ended up getting hurt at work and realized I could not make the payments they want.

#1 UPDATE Employee
All you have to do
AUTHOR: Liz - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, September 22, 2005
All you need to do is call Customer Service (this coming from a customer service representative). Simply explain to them your situation, and please be honest.
Let them know that you were injured on the job and currently do not have the ability to pay. They will probably offer to lower your payments, or extend your due date before they agree, because that's part of our job. But in the long run, it costs us money to try to collect from individuals who will never pay, so it's better for everyone if you just cancel altogether.
But if you're anything like me... I need my magazines! ESPECIALLY if I'm stuck at home!
If you ARE capable of paying, I've written a brief explaination of what it is exactly that you're getting. If you're still not interested, feel free to call and work things out with a Customer Service Representative. And if you ever have one that's rude to you, simply ask for their Employee # and report them to a supervisor. It's our job to help you find the best package that works for you, and your situation. (Although, kindness goes far in our line of work, because there are so very few left in the world that are polite and kind!)
I hope you heal quickly and that you get lots of (I'm sure well deserved) rest and relaxation in the meantime!

Below is a brief explaination of the magazine packages:
Services range from 1-4 years. You were originally offered the 4 years, what you end up with is up to what you authorize. The 4 year is the standard package that most people go with because it allows them to pay for 4 years of their favorite magazines for 60-90% off newstand and publisher pricing.
Customer service representatives are able to drop the length of your service, as well as help make your package and even better value.
For anyone that doesn't read magazines, this isn't a deal. As it's not something you spend money on anyway.
But from a consumers point of view... anyone who reads magazine's on a even semi regular basis has noticed the ever increasing price of magazines, ranging anywhere from $2 per issue to $7, or even $9.
Personally I picked up about 6-7 magazine's a month, which didn't sem like much since I was just tacking them onto the end of my grocery bill. But when I did the math... around $30 a MONTH at the publishers price. Not to mention the newstand price! Instead they offer you a rate of just over $5 a month for the same number of magazines!
