I beg anyone that is considering to have a car repossessed to please do yourself a favor and search elsewhere! From the time that I became a client to the end of this ridiculous experience, everything about this place is extremely unprofessional. First off they had told me that the charges for this service was $800. Wrong! They ended up sending me an invoice for about $2000. When I received that, I called them....relentlessly (since they would never call me back)...and eventually I spoke with Mr Rick St Marie (aka: the worst businessman ever)...and he knocked off about $400....whoo freakin whoo.
Their lack of communication was absurd, to say the least. Oh, and the worst thing of it all! I had spoke with my case worker, Tori, in regards to making the payment. She told me that I could send the money overnight and I would be able to pick up the car on Friday. A friend of mine in a different state was helping me on the payment so I had him overnight his share, and I did the same with mine...as instructed. Between the both of us we spent about $70 to send this payment to them so everything would run smoothly.
The next day I received a call from Tori saying that the payment was received and that she would be notifying the tow company, that had my car, that they had permission to release it. I happen to live in a different state than the car that I had repossessed, so I had a couple of my friends go pick the car up for me. They both had to work in the afternoon, and this day was the last day I could have it picked up before storage fees would acrue.
So they go to find this place, which was fifty miles away, find it...but are told that they haven't received a release form....so they're basically screwed. They called me about this, so I called up the National Recovery Network to see what was going on. I was told that the person I needed to talk to wasn't there and they would call me back later. "Later" wasn't exactly an option, because the person I needed to talk to wouldn't be in for another 3 hours.
So I called back again, and demanded to speak to a manager. That's when Rick St Marie got on the phone. I started explaining my dilemma...and before I could finish he immediately started cussing me out...said he was the 'owner'...told me that I would get the car next week...and hung up on me! What?! So I called back, got his voicemail, threw around some choice words of my own, and threatened his reputation explicitly. I also had my attorney call too...so between all that I finally had the car released to my poor friends....that had been waiting for about five hours in BFE. I really hope this saves some other poor soul from making the same mistake as me....

Statement of Facts-Situation Could have been Avoided
AUTHOR: Nrn,llc. - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, August 13, 2009
On or about June , 2008, Angela Nickason contacted National Recovery Network to obtain information regarding the recovery of her 2004 Volkswagon Jetta. She spoke with our sales department. She was quoted a base fee dependent upon the degree of difficulty.
On June 3, 2008 Angela Nickason submitted an assignment for the repossession of the 2004 Volkswagon Jetta. Prior to submitting the assignment, Ms. Nickason you must accept our Terms and Conditions before clicking on the I Agree button. Client agrees and understands that each recovery is unique and NRN LLCs base fee DOES NOT INCLUDE hardcore skips, investigation, fraud, identity theft, criminal enterprise, national database charges, etc., and that NRN LLCs final invoice is based upon the degree of difficulty in the recovery and the means necessary to recover your particular collateral. NRN LLCs base fee is just that, a base fee, and the level of difficulty and expenses encountered engaging in the recovery will result in an increase in the final charge to Client.
Immediately upon receipt of the assignment our data entry entered the assignment into our system as well as emailed the instructions to not initiate or accept any communications from the Debtor (Megan McLanahan) also sent were your login and password and information as to how to track your case on line. The account was then forwarded to our In-House Investigator.
As to your complaint: First off they had told me that the charges for this service was $800. Wrong! They ended up sending me an invoice for about $2000. When I received that, I called them....relentlessly (since they would never call me back)...and eventually I spoke with Mr Rick St Marie (aka: the worst businessman ever)...and he knocked off about $400....whoo freakin whoo. Our sales department quotes a base fee dependent upon the degree of difficulty. For you to state otherwise is an untruth. Also, our records indicate your calls were received prior to business hours and our receptionists clearly stated on many occasions to call back between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. As to, and he knocked off about $400....whoo freakin whoo our General Manager spoke with you and agreed to amend the invoice down by $526.00, quite a bit more than the $400.00 you wish for people to believe in this complaint.
Ms. Nickason, our office provided as a courtesy 10 days free storage from the date of recovery on your vehicle. You sent your payment overnight mail on nearly the last day of free storage. Our office notified our agent you would be having someone pick up the vehicle on your behalf on the following Friday. As per policy and procedure, immediately upon receipt of your payment, our office completed a release form and faxed it over to our agent authorizing your friend to pick up this unit on your behalf.
Your complaint addresses, I happen to live in a different state than the car that I had repossessed, so I had a couple of my friends go pick the car up for me. They both had to work the afternoon, and this day was the last day I could have it picked up before storage fees would accrue. Perhaps you should have taken care of your invoice sooner to allow more time for the pick up of your unit.
Your complaint addresses, So they go to find this place, which was fifty miles away, find it...but are told that they haven't received a release form....so they're basically screwed. They called me about this, so I called up the National Recovery Network to see what was going on. I was told that the person I needed to talk to wasn't there and they would call me back later. 'Later' wasn't exactly an option, because the person I needed to talk to wouldn't be in for another 3 hours NRN has no control over which location a vehicle is picked up at or which state it is found in. The fact it was fifty miles away from your friends is out of our control. As far as your friends showing up and the agent telling them they had not received a release form is unfortunate, however our agent did have it and found it a short time later as it had been misplaced by his office. Your call to our office was prior to office hours, unfortunately at that time of year there was a two hour difference in time from Missouri and Arizona and no office staff were present at the time of your call. However, again this could have been avoided had you taken care of this prior to the 10 days expiring. Please be honest here, if our manager was rude to you it was only as a reaction to your attitude. By the time your attorney contacted us, your friends were already in possession of your vehicle. The most they would have had to wait was the two hour time difference not the five hours you claim and as far as waiting in BFE maybe you should contact Megan and discuss that issue with her since you made the mistake of allowing her possession of your vehicle. You Ms. Nickason need to take responsibility for your own actions.

SAME THING JUST HAPPENED TO ME TODAY!

I would love for you to contact me as I felt as if I was reading my own story while reading yours. It is only 3 days later and they are doing it to someone else! I am so mad I want to spit nails. There is more strength in numbers and while I have placed a BBB complaint I believe with the nastiness of Rick St. Marie I will have to take this to litigation and there is strength in numbers. Please let me know if you would be interested in teaming up against this horrible company when the time comes. Thank you.
