To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing in regard to our recent move from Montgomery, Alabama to Monroe, Louisiana with the delivery on Friday, July 7, 2006. We are seasoned movers, so we interviewed six companies deciding on Nationwide Relocation. Nationwide appeared wonderful over the phone and in setting up our pack and load dates. As our contract stated, which I have enclosed, our pack dates were to be July 3-4, 2006 and our load dates were to be July 4-5, 2006. The Thursday before we were to move we got a call from Countrywide Moving & Storage saying they would be actually moving us.packing and loading in one day.

We stated emphatically that our contract stated that we would have separate pack and load dates. Mirabelle (spelling?) stated that it could be done in one day and there would be no problemsshe was very rude to us and even hung up the phone on me when I expressed my feelings and raised my voice in hopes that Mirabelle would actually listen to our concerns. I was upset and Mirabelle later lied and said I had used foul language which is completely untrue. We immediately called Nationwide Relocation stressing our concern and they did not return our messages.

On Wednesday, July 5th Countrywide was suppose to be at our home around 7:00 a.m. and did not show up until 6:15 in the evening. We had been on the phone all day with Nationwide and Countrywide expressing our concern and got very little help especially from Countrywide. When the moving truck showed up it was not an 18 wheeler as we had expected but a large trailer that looked like an oversized horse trailer (pictures are enclosed). It was immediately obvious that our belongings would not fit and the driver spoke very little English and his partner spoke minimal English. This made it impossible to communicate with them. My husband, Ron, had to leave his new job in Louisiana to drive home to meet the movers in order to communicate with them and oversee them so I could relieve the babysitter who had been hired during the day when the movers were suppose to be there. The packers threw our items in boxes and did not even wrap china and such.around 9:15 in the evening they ran out of tissue or wrapping supplies to protect our items hence the reason they were hardly wrapping our boxed items. At 11:00 at night, my mother and I went to Wal-mart to buy wrapping supplies and then wrapped for almost two hours a ton of pictures, breakables, and kitchen items. We had to borrow blankets from a neighbor for furniture. My husband also had to help take apart all the furniture and even moved some of it. Countrywide did not bring dish packs, wardrobe boxes, picture packs, and blankets which we had paid for as stated in out contract. They also did not even take inventory of most of the boxes.

The packing was finally done 12 hours later at 6:30 in the morning which meant my husband stayed up with them the entire night to have our packing complete. Countrywide ran out of room in the trailer truck and threw the rest of our belongingsfurniture and all in the back of their pick-up truck without tarps (they had thrown ripped boxes on top for protection). I have enclosed pictures of it all.

On the day Countrywide arrived at our new home they were suppose to unpack as stated in our contract, to not only unload but to unpack the boxes. The driver and his helper refused, and of course, we spoke with Nationwide and Countrywide throughout the day. Finally, Mirabelle from Countrywide with Sara from Nationwide and I agreed on a conference call that Countrywide would refund $250 since the guys did not unpack and $100 for the moving supplies for a total of $350. It has been three weeks and we still have not received our refund or our claim form despite more calls to Nationwide and Countrywide.
In the ten moving experiences this by far as been the absolute worst. Nationwide Relocation and Countrywide were not what they said and our belongings as well as our family suffered. I have enclosed pictures as well all contracts, inventory, etc. I hope that both companies will be reprimanded, and it is my hope that others will be warned of their dishonest and poor business practices. We paid Nationwide a large sum to provide a reputable moving company and that did not happen.

Below is the information of both companies as I am sending this letter to the BBB of Houston and the BBB of Southeast Florida:

Hired a lawyer

AUTHOR: Ron - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 29, 2006

Nationwide Relocation only offered to refund us a $110 which is a complete joke. We have finally hired a lawyer and hope the paperwork will be filed near end of December to take Nationwide and Countrywide to court. So many people give up and don't prosecute...we will try to add the pictures of our move. You will be shocked when you see them!
