Our grandmother shipped a car from her home in the South to Portland Oregon to surprise my 15 yr old son on 1-25-08 and it never arrived. It is apparently now missing along with the drivers. The company has been rude, they are unwilling to give us any information, when they do answer their phone, and when asked to speak with a supervisor, we don't get return phone calls to the person we have in charge of talking to the company. We finally threatened to call the police and their response was "to do what we thought we needed to do".
The drivers who picked up the car are currently missing along with the car. They won't answer their cell phone. My grandmother is out a car with low miles AND over 900.00 in money orders she handed over to the drivers. She was asked for her credit card information but thank GOD she did not give it out.
No one claims responsibility and the company has had horrible customer service. The car is worth about 8,600 as it was driven by my grandmother and had low miles. We are stuck and have no idea what to do. Be careful using a company with poor customer service and drivers who go missing with your possessions.
I looked on the Better Business Website and found this company listed with a A although they had 634 complaints, wow and the company's claim on this site is quote "According to the companys contract, the company is not responsible for delays in delivery or pickup, damage, lost or stolen items, however the company states it will assist its customers in resolving carrier disputes". YOU BE THE JUDGE OF THIS.

First off, let me state that in the moving industry there are NO guarantees, EVER. I don't care what company you go with, just like in any industry, anything can go wrong, unfortunately that's not the case with all employees, some of us, and most of us rather, actually care about our customers and take ownership by monitoring their moves from start to finish.
It's easy...as long as the furniture is accurate and you as a customer will have plenty of time to review the list and the actual weight before you actually are asked to reserve, then there is NO reason why you should pay more then quoted.
As far as the mover NOT showing up, well that can happen with any company, anything can go wrong, a lot of this depends on your rapport with your SR. Moving consultant, it also depends on how much your willing to spend on your move, if your a cheap person, then you will get cheap service, I understand every one wants to save as much as possible, but lets be honest...
Here's an Example: What's the difference between a Mercedes and a Camry beside close to $50,000, I mean they are both cars and are designed to take you from point A to point B...
The difference lies is the luxurious service you receive the moment you walk into a Mercedes dealership, the warranty, the service and the overall experience...
People can say what they want, but truthfully, you get what you pay for...That's the truth. My advice is obviously shop around, but understand that not everyone at Nationwide is out to rip anyone off, we have a job to do and as long as the employee is diligent and knowledgeable, chances are he will have your best interest in mind...just like in any industry.
Moving is not cheap especially the way GAS prices are, Stop expecting to get everything for free. Take time to feel you moving consultant out and understand that what you guys may have gone through, although unfortunate can happen with any moving company....
I don't care what company you choose, you can always fall victim to a scam, The A rating we have with the BBB is based on over 90,000 moves, out of 90,000 moves we have had only 670 complaints, which is a less the 1% complaint ratio and if you research further, you will see that out of those 670, "0" went unanswered...
In conclusion, realize that the SR. moving consultants at Nationwide are BROKERS and just like any brokers in any industry, they make a small percentage of the reservation, a mortgage broke, sports broker, commodities broke and moving broker makes a living by commission, they are trained to monitor the move and get you the best rate as possible, but lets be honest....The customers that are not price conscience will get the "A" rated service they deserve, the customers that want everything for free, well, this doesn't really motivate any moving consultant to go above and beyond the call of duty..
I mean would you work for free....?
So, just remember that not everyone at Nationwide is a scammer, one thing I can attest to is that the management at NATIONWIDE doesn't play and they have 0 tolerance for any type of deceit, this is the truth...They will fire someone on the spot if they are to hear of a any type lies, scams or people not following policy and procedure.
So, don't believe everything you read, a lot of these stories are written by disgruntled employees, competitors, even owners of moving companies that can not compete with Nationwide overall service...
I honestly wish you guys the best on your moves and remember there are actually good, kind hearted employees that want to provide customers with a good experience and take pride in their work, as I do...

Hello,
I myself have had problems with this company. I highly suggest that you do call the police, especially since it involves interstate moving. This is a possible felony. Also, I suggest hiring an attorney; just make sure to get one who is reputable and who will force the company to pay their legal fees. My email is (((ROR redacted)))
