These companies are the ultimate slime. Here's some advice. These companies know that your phone service cannot be turned off for refusing to pay long distance charges. Therefore, call them up to complain, and demand that they bill you DIRECTLY, not through your local phone provider's bill. They will probably immediately offer you an 85-90% discount on the charges. By doing this you take away ALL their leverage in trying to collect their outrageous charges from you.
