I recently moved into a new house in February of 2007. I started receiving phone calls with pre-recorded messages looking for a particular person. I had to do some research online to find out who was calling me, as nothing showed on Caller ID but a phone number.

After a few months of messages and calls on the weekend and evenings, I called their customer service phone number. I tried to politely tell the representative that the person they were looking for was not and has not ever lived in my house, and would they please stop calling. Only response I got was the rep hanging up on me. I tried 4 times to talk to someone about this, and got nowhere.

I recently filed a BBB complaint with the simple resolution for them to stop calling. The deadline passed with no response from NCC. The day after the response deadline, I get a call at 5 P.M. on a Sunday no less, but this time with a different prerecorded message and some kind of reference number. Funny how their offices are closed on Sunday but they still call you.

All I want is for this company to stop calling me. I don't think that's too difficult. It's not my responsibility to make sure they have the correct contact information. I've emailed the president of NCC, emailed to the address the list on the site, and filed a BBB complaint. If these calls persist, rest assured legal action will be taken. I do not take kindly to irresponsible companies harassing me on my days off to collect bad debt from someone that I've never had contact with, and with customer service so poor they hang up on customers.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

How to get them to stop.

AUTHOR: Outtooutu - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 05, 2007

My first suggestion is to send them a letter, certified requesting they stop contacting you. This provides you with a paper trail.

Once you have sent the letter and they have received it and they call you I suggest contacting PA Attorney General at www.attorneygeneral.gov. Even if you send the letter and they stop I still suggest contacting the Attorney General because they keep statistics and it would help deter or prevent this type of abuse to others.
