NCO Financial ripoff settlement not credited to credit report Horsham Pennsylvania
*Consumer Suggestion: Settlement Letter ..Let this be a lesson learned TO ALL
NCO Financial, after months of harassment and at least 6 payments that never made a dent in the balance of the debt, agreed to a settlement. NCO Financial promised that the settlement would be posted to credit reports, and that I would receive a confirmation letter within a week of payment. NCO did not deliver on either of these promises, and have refused to talk to us since.

Settlement Letter ..Let this be a lesson learned TO ALL

I was reading your compliant about not getting a settlement letter from NCO (which is a collection agency) and the settlement not being updated to the credit bureaus.
ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS....DON'T FORGET
Whenever a creditor, agency or anything of the sort offer a settlement, make sure you get the settlement letter prior to making the payment, if not then it is almost impossible to prove such.
The settlement letter is proof you will need to rely on just incase. Now, don't forget I AM A former veteran collector, so I know what I am talking about. 9 out of 10 times it is not the collection agency who reports the information to the credit bureaus, it is the original creditor!
My professional and personal thought is the reason your settlement has never been reported is because no settlement letter, so there is nothing to report. Did you call the creditor you original owe to try to resolve with them? Do you still have proof of the payment method used?
Learn from this, and Good Luck to you.
p.s I was one of the collectors who refused to violate any laws to collect a debt, yet I attempted to educate the consumer in the process.
