I just called nco today! they have a phone number to call for things like this. if you call a collection office they just want money! If you are dealing with nco Call their Consumer Help Unit at 800-709-8676. I told them that my son had a debt with them, not me. but they were still calling my house and cell phone daily! I told them my son doesn't live with me and doesn't have a cell phone! they said it will take 24-48 hours for the computers to take my cell and home number out of the system! They didn't ask any question besides what they needed to know to stop calling me! My story is true but if they are messing with you I guess you could use this story or something close!

Calling them is a waste of time, energy and breath

I dealt with these lying, law ignoring degenerate criminals before over a debt that was not mine, you can read it on this site: Report: #186664.

It took the attorney general from WA state, the attorney general from PA, the BBB from PA, my phone company and the FTC to get them off my back. They ignored multiple cease and desist letters which were sent certified with return reciepts to show they recieved them. They ignored the BBB and Qwest both telling them the person responsible no longer had our phone number.

They started out my day by calling at 05:00 in the morning claiming that because it was 08:00 in PA it was all well and good for them to call WA state, they even played stupid about time zones... I called the number you listed hundreds of times in the TWO YEARS it took to finally get them to STOP.

What did NCO do? They sold the debt with MY phone number to another collection agency after they were supposed to of deleted my number from ALL files. I got to pay for a new phone number thanks to NCO Financial which scared my husband who was deployed in Iraq when he tried to call home. Thankfully he checked his email and saw I hadn't left him.

NCO Financial in my opinion are the LOWEST most ILLEGAL bunch of PARASITES of collection agencies out there. Maybe they've learned... but then again you can't teach old dogs new tricks.

Good luck to you.

Do update this report.

Don't forget to update your report when they call you again-and they will.

Telling them on the phone accomplishes absolutely nothing and they know it.  What you need to do is send them a certified, RRR, letter demanding that they NEVER call you again about any debts of your son who does not live with you.  Then when they call again, you sue them in District Court.

You need to visit the FTC website, www.ftc.gov and download the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and the Fair Debt Reporting Act to learn how to deal with these pukes.
